It Is Generally Accepted That The Broad

It is generally accepted that the broad scope of interpersonal skills is seen as an area in which women tend to be more accomplished than men, and consequently more suited to the demands of the changing business environment leading into the twentieth-first century. Women talk a lot about being more perceptive to the feelings of others and of being able to express their feelings more easily than their male counterparts. They are seen to be 'very much aware of the group and caring for the whole'. One manager talked of women as not having egos to protect and seeming to be more trusting, generally, of each other'.

If women are more relationship oriented than men, it follows that a list of skills which includes coaching and communication will closely fit their management style. Mothers have a natural role as coaches to their children: You have to be able to constantly readjust the amount of freedom" to give a child when it tries to do something and usually mothers develop this skill more than fathers'.

This is, of course, tied in with delegating skills - in which the abilities to make yourself understood and to encourage others to do something, which you are probably dying to do yourself, are compensated for by the sheer joy of helping someone else achieve potential'.
